Intrauterine Insemination – IUI Cost in Pune
Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) treatment is a popular choice for infertile couples. There are various factors that affect IUI cost in Pune. Some of the factors include the type of infertility, age and unique medical history that may vary from one person to another. IUI treatment success rates are higher but the cost of IUI in Pune is less expensive than that of other fertility treatments such as In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). Before exploring more on IUI treatment and IUI cost in Pune, it is important to know about the causes that lead to infertility in both men and women.
IUI Treatment Process
The Ovulation-stimulating medicines are used prior to intrauterine insemination to ascertain whether the eggs are mature. IUI takes place around 24-36 hours after the surge in LH hormone, which indicates the occurrence of ovulation. When a woman is in her ovulation period, washed and concentrated sperms are placed into the uterus by a catheter to give it a head start to reach the egg.
Cost of IUI Treatment
Age, type of fertility and medical history are considered important factors while opting for a fertility treatment. Another major factor is how much the treatment cost. Since each individual and the condition are unique, the IUI cost in Pune can vary from one person to another. In today’s scenario, IUI treatment is considered to have higher success rates despite having a low cost. At the IUI centres in Pune, the IUI cost in Pune starts from Rs.5494.8 per insemination cycle, and can go up with respect to the location and success rates. Factors Affecting IUI Cost in Pune
The IUI cost in Pune depends on different factors including experience of the doctor, availability of modern medical services at the respective fertility clinics or hospital as well as the past history of the couple with respect to fertility treatments. The utilization of donor sperm and medications are also crucial factors for determining the cost of IUI treatment in Pune.

What is IVF?
In vitro fertilization (IVF) helps with fertilization, embryo development, and implantation, so you can get pregnant.
How does IVF work?
IVF stands for in vitro fertilization. It’s one of the more widely known types of assisted reproductive technology (ART). IVF works by using a combination of medicines and surgical procedures to help sperm fertilize an egg, and help the fertilized egg implant in your uterus. First, you take medication that makes several of your eggs mature and ready for fertilization. Then the doctor takes the eggs out of your body and mixes them with sperm in a lab, to help the sperm fertilize the eggs. Then they put 1 or more fertilized eggs (embryos) directly into your uterus. Pregnancy happens if any of the embryos implant in the lining of your uterus.
What’s the IVF process?
The first step in IVF is taking fertility medications for several months to help your ovaries produce several eggs that are mature and ready for fertilization. This is called ovulation induction. You may get regular ultrasounds or blood tests to measure your hormone levels and keep track of your egg production. Once your ovaries have produced enough mature eggs, your doctor removes the eggs from your body (this is called egg retrieval). Egg retrieval is a minor surgical procedure that’s done at your doctor’s office or at a fertility clinic.
You’ll get medicine to help you be relaxed and comfortable during the procedure. Using an ultrasound to see inside your body, the doctor puts a thin, hollow tube through your vagina and into the ovary and follicles that hold your eggs. The needle is connected to a suction device that gently pulls the eggs out of each follicle.
